Intercontinental
Oh to be intercontinental more frequently! My state of wanderlust is growing deeper and deeper and my recent trip only spurred it on. Especially after this particular visit. We had the amazing privilege to be able to visit the Intercontinental Hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand for sunset drinks and dinner on our last trip. As we took in the amazing view, it became clear why the hotel had made it on the New York Times’ ‘1000 Things to do Before You Die’ list.Situated on the West side of the island, it is one of the few resorts that capture the sunset views. As most of the tourism side of things happen on the East side around Chaweng Beach, the Intercontinental offers a nice secluded and tranquil vibe. Occupying most of the hillside, the resort has a lot to offer from the seven pools scattered through the resort to the crystal clear waters of the Andaman Ocean. I don't think I've ever seen sand as white and water so clear.
From the website:Indulge yourself with a stay at this newly opened luxury hotel in Koh Samui. ‘Baan Taling Ngam’, or ‘home on a beautiful cliff’, is a fitting description of this stunning 22-acre resort, perfectly positioned overlooking azure seas and private white sand beaches. This Koh Samui hotel offers beachfront villas with private plunge pools and vistas of the famous Five Islands and Angthong National Park. It’s an idyllic setting to enjoy tropical sunsets and savour our signature island cuisine.
We enjoyed delicious drinks as the sun set over the Five Islands and delighted in the sensational cuisine from their in house restaurant, Amber. I know I will definitely be back to this stunning resort. No resort has ever taken my breath away like the Intercontinental has managed to.
